It truly feels like God's plan that brought us together. In 2020, Danilo started attending St. Elijah Orthodox Church, the church where I have grown up in. I first noticed him taking Communion, and I couldn’t help but wonder who he was. When I asked my mom, she didn’t know him either, so I shared with one of my good friends about the “new boy” in our church. As fate would have it, my friend was with her little cousin - who just so happens to be the priests daughter - and they both called me to share everything they knew about the “new boy” at church. At that time we were in the beginning stages of Covid where there was not a lot of interaction amongst any of us. Our Churches Youth Director, who was also new to our community, wanted to get to know some of the young adults and asked my friend and I to go get coffee. My friend, thinking ahead, suggested we should also invite the “new boy”. Fortunately for me, Danilo agreed and met all of us for coffee. From that day on, I started developing stronger feelings towards Danilo. We began chatting and connecting, and soon after, Danilo reached out to me and asked if I could give him a ride to church since his car was in the shop. It was a simple moment, but after bonding that day we continued to talk to each other for a while.

Danilo asked me to come over to hangout, but at first I was nervous about telling my family. Instead, I confided in my friend, who encouraged me to hangout with him to see where it went. Trusting her advice happened to be one of the best decisions of my life. From that night on, Danilo and I continued to grow our relationship into something that led to true love, knowing we would spend the rest of our lives together. Looking back, it’s clear that God’s plan guided our paths to cross and ultimately brought us together. He led Danilo to Oklahoma City, and through His guidance, we found each other. Now, we can’t wait to spend the rest of our lives together, forever grateful for the divine path that brought us here.
